Fixing 2JZ Problems
Thin oil pans get tweaked when they are removed, plus they weep under pressure when FIPG seals break down over time. We made a limited number of rear sump GTE girdle plates that add ejector pins and allow more even force distribution to keep the seal intact.
Installation
Strip pan of all sealant and paint around flange area
Locate girdle plate on pan using at least 3 dowels or m6 bolts verifying clear passage.
Add clearance bevel to 2 areas where ejector pins are located to clear pan ribs.
Clamp evenly to a welding table or flat plate.
weld outside edge of pan to girdle plate at each bolt pass-through point.
Drill pilot holes for ejector pins at the 2 locations through the factory pan.
Locate the weld nuts with the pins at the 2 locations, allowing them to pass through for clearance.
Weld-in weld nuts in 2-3 areas and chase threads M6x1.0.
Paint pan with high temp paint.
Install pins flush to pan lower surface.
Apply Toyota Oil FIPG and conceal ejector pins in sealant. We suggest finger tight installation an then final torque after FIPG has cured.
