The first gen Lexus SC is likely the most popular Lexus drift chassis.  With so many chassis in action is was clear that there was a big need for a completely re-engineered arm set that boasts adjustment and most importantly an outer ball joint that is serviceable and oversized.  Many drivers also find that they needed to run excessive wheel spacers to get increased track width and tire clearance.  We are happy to say that we can eliminate many of these problems with our kit.


We started with the OE design, and threw it out the window.  At its base, the lower arm is a ground up design that offers clearance, strength and adjustment everywhere a drift car needs it.  The shock mount is moved forward for brake clearance, the sweeping section offers huge clearance for tires and the outer ball joint is a huge 7/8" precision FK Bearing monoball.  Add in the forged 4140 Chromoly taper studs and the steering has never been smoother or more durable keeping you at the track longer.

 

The upper arms are equally stout while still being compact.  A T-Plate construction with removable cross brace offers the right rigidity where its needed while also narrowing down to avoid tire contact. Just enough space to clear the shock and fine tune camber adjustment, we spec a 3/4" outer rod end and another integral taper 4140 Chromoly taper stud to make sure that tandem contact will not take you out of the running during competition.  The chassis mounts are oversized precision FK spherical bearings which will increase driver feedback and control.

 

Designed to work with already modified factory knuckles, our kit leverages what you already own but allows you to take it farther with greater steering knuckle rack proximity and increased tire and tie rod clearance.  We also include an extended tie rod option to match the increased track width with an array of spacers to suit a perfect bump curve.  Shock mount shims are also available just in case those coilovers you are running are not setting you where suspension travel is ideal.  Our tie rods feature a stainless steel coupler, a high misalignment FK precision outer rod end and again a 4140 Chromoly taper stud and lock nut.  This is the pinnacle of quality and performance available

 

 

SPECIFICATIONS/ FEATURES:

Increased track width: 2.5-3" per side (overflares will be required)

Increased firewall clearance: 1" forward.

Steering Angle: Up to 65 degrees of steering angle which will depend on current knuckle modifications abd right height, brake calipers and wheel offsets/width. We suggest a +15 offset on  an 8" wide wheel. This is suggested but our kit has been tested with 9.5" +15 wheels.

Caster Angles: around 4-6 degrees customer adjustable. This creates ideal contact at lock for better control.

Shock mount: Sliding shock mount clevis to adjust spring leverage  (motion ratio/effective spring rate). Spacers to adjust ride height can be made with longer hardware, contact us for more information.

Construction: Alloy steel plate construction, Laser Cut and Pulse MIG welded in the USA. Bearing cups are TIG welded.

Coating: Orange will be our default color.  If you would prefer a custom color please indicate in the order notes and we will get a price to you. If ordering bare, we will provide all bearings and retaining rings that you will need to install.  We will also provide bearing retaining compound to be used when assembling the spacers and ball joint studs. A shop press is required to assure proper installation and prevent bearing damage. 

*Specifications may change based on final production and ongoing testing. We will roll in the latest changes to the final shipped products as well as present options as they arise that are setup dependant.

 

 

KIT CONTENTS:

-Lower control arm with rod end inner mounts and 7/8" spherical outer bearing mount.

-Upper control arm with spherical bearing inner mounts and 3/4" High-misalignment outer rod end mount. Sliding shock mount provided for effective spring rate changes and clearance adjustment.

-Extended precision high-misalignment outer tie rod ends with stainless couplers and bumpsteer spacers.

-Extended Braided Stainless Brake lines

 

Not included but suggested:  It will add thread engagement to use IS300 inner tie rod ends.  The kit currently offers minimum thread engagement with our suppled outer tie rod ends, but for more extreme tire and wheel fitments that require the lower arms be adjusted outward.

SETUP CONSIDERATIONS:

-Sway Bar Support: At this time the kit is intended to delete the sway bar to allow maximum wheel clearance.  We have moved the shock mount outboard to compensate for the added arm length, but increased spring rates are still suggested.  Typically 4-6kg/mm above what is typically run is a guideline.  In an effort to minimize rate changes, we can also provide bumpstop shims for your shocks to allow a steeper compression spring rate curve and mitigate the need for stiffer springs.  These shims are available elsewhere on the site.  If a sway bar is desired we can provide endlinks for this function that mount to our shock clevis.

-Ideal wheel clearance is with a 18x8 +15 wheel or equivalent depending on knuckle modifications.  Current interference limits are brake banjo bolts on Supra calipers and the front tie rod sweep into the lower knuckle mount location.  Lower knuckle grinding is suggested to make the surface flush and allow clean contact with the outer tie rod tube.

-PLEASE INCLUDE: current shock manufacturer and spring rate as well as desired ride height.  We can make a riser plate to add ride height or add other things to the kit to curtail changing spring rates immediately. These will be offered at a promotion discount to assist in initial setup and widespread feedback.

We will be working on an installation guide but please contact us with any questions first in the meantime. Installation is fairly straight forward and adjustments are mostly driven by clearance, shock, wheels and steering.  Your setup will always be different based on circumstances.  We will offer help where we can to make sure you have the best experience possible.
