Ask Question

The Porsche name is synonymous with performance and we saw a huge gap in the market when it came to so-called offroad upgrades. With any offroad build, the addition of lift and larger tires creates the need for geometry correction in the front suspension.  This relates to handling, offroad capability, and correct axle alignment.  Our front upper controls arms are built to take a beating, add needed adjustment, and look good doing it with high-quality components and finishes.

Features:

  • High misalignment TTX ball joint featuring sintered metal bearing races for added support.
  • Full TIG-welded boxed member steel construction. 100% made in the USA in CO
  • Billet ball joint slider plate adds 3.5 degrees of adjustment and features our simple "Pry-to-adjust" method of movement between limit tabs.
  • X-Axis sealed inner bearing joints are booted and off 0 deflection or play for the Porsche feel on and off road.
  • Precise location of air leveling mount in factory location-replaceable like factory.
  • Sliding ball joint plate has friction hold giving good feedback on position without overshooting.
  • Fully serviceable with parts in stock in the USA.
  • Guaranteed to fit with precision
  • 2yr warranty against construction defects not related to wear, abuse or incident.*
  • 3 stage prep and powder coated to last.

Installation Instructions:

  • Prepare vehicle with wheels chocks or on a lift.
  • Remove front wheel via 5 lug bolts
  • Separate front upper ball joint. This can require specialty ball joint press tools, and air chisel and the end of the stud or hitting the knuckle on the side of the tapered joint with a mini sledge.
  • Support the spindle with a tether, or clamp.
  • Access the 3 upper chassis bolts that hold the upper shock cradle to lower the arm mount.
  • Once the old arm is removed glide the new one in place. Note that based on precise spacers, things make be snug. Nudge in with a dead blow with light force to line up the mounting bolts.
  • This is a good time to decide what function you are looking for. Most OE applications will have the ball joint slide out close to the farthest out setting.  For lifted trucks, the carriage should be midway to the start.
  • The adjust, the 4 M10 socket cap screws will need to be loose, so that the knurling on the haead can pop out off the plate channels. You will see that they are retained when in the channel, this is by design to prevent too many loose parts during final torque.
  • Pry on the front and rear pry zones to get the floating plate where you would like it for alignment. Then tighten the 4 bolts. You should be able to do this from the underside as the top should lock in place enough to torque the 5 KEPS nuts.
  • Next, the ball joint should see a torque of 70 ft-lbs.  Line up the flange castle nut with the closest hole.  If you have any other companies' upper arms and they are not OEM, or the vehicle has been in an accident, verify full taper seat and contact with marking dye if the torquing step does not feel correct.
  • Note that in the outer adjustment ranges (OE replacement) there may be some trimming required on the inner fender liner.  We will attempt to make these arms serve your function, but you should always verify in your application that there is sufficient up travel clearance.
  • Install level links into the level link location. You can use either Oe links or our level set links with our OEV+ lift kits.  The center sleeve is reinforced and should see a torque of 10n-m (88in-lbs) Thanks in lbs, NOT FT-lbs.
  • Test drive and check for any noise. The ball joints come pre-greased, so there should not be a requirement to add grease.  If any noises occur, check clearance, torque, and all accessory attachments to the arms.

*Warranty available with proof of installation by a certified automotive mechanic. Warranty excludes wear items like ball joints and x-axis bearings and damage caused by improper installation. The warranty does not cover any damage related to misuse, heavy impact, or damage from contact with other components related to vehicle setup. Please communicate all concerns during installation.  Dry cycling the suspension to verify clearance is suggested to avoid any interference when used with the combination of aftermarket parts.
