This is an upgraded version of our standard bushing and features a stiffer 90 durometer Poly. Watch the video to see how they perform under pressure. These bushings replace the staked factory rubber bushings with Superpro Polyurethane Bushings that are built to last and properly engineering to increase performance. The high-end polyurethane design eliminates the parasitic spring rate caused by staked bushings and increase service life. These bushings also provide more positive front arm location during spirited driving. It also will reduce inner tire wear due to toe deflection under braking
Set includes 2-Bushing sets to replace both bushings
includes grease
a shop press is strongly suggested for ease of install. Its pretty much manditory don't try to do this without one.
Video of it in action
Install:
The bushing sits at the back of the front LCA which is held on by two bolts into the chassis and one nut that is threaded on to an extension of the arm.
You will need to remove both under-covers and the side bracket bolt that is attached to the #2 bushing bracket.
Remove the two bolts holding the bushing bracket (one with nut) and 2 side rail bracket
Remove the rear nut that holds the bracket to the LCA.
Remove rear bushing bracket, this may require deflection of the front arm bushing or unbolting the front location to free preload If too difficult you will need to remove the entire arm, sway bar and shock absorber. Contact FIGS is this is the case.
With a shop press, remove the old bushing.
Press the new bushing into the aluminum bracket.
Install new bushings making sure the bevel on the bushing tube is oriented towards the front of the vehicle.
Reinstall rear nut to hold bushing in place but not to final torque.
Reinstall 2 bolts plus nut and 2 bolts of side bracket. Long bolt through side rail bracket torque to 204Nm/ 150ft-lbs, short bolt with nut 86Nm/63ft-lbs, and the side rail bolts 50Nm/37ft-lbs. Apply final torque to the nut at the center of of the bushing 113Nm/ 83ft-lbs.
Verify clean cycling of the suspension by loading and unloading. If any other OE or rubber bushings where loosened or replaced, load the suspension and then final torque them to prevent their premature wear.
You done!
